My friend, Justin Savidis, is racing in the Iditarod this year. A few nights before the ceremonial start, the mushers gather and draw numbers for the order in which they leave the starting line. Justin drew the final spot, so he had some time to kill at the starting line. I got to spend a few minutes with them as they got ready to go.
